When you say that the "collar" is leaking, exactly what are you talking about? I assume that you're seeing water running down the mast by the partners. Do you have a rubber boot, or what? Is this a new occurrence?

Separately, I would never suggest 5200 for anything unless you have no intentions of ever taking it apart. 4200 is a much better solution for most things.

Geoff
The collar that seats on the deck . When removing the mast the collar is un bolted. Along the top of the collar it seems that water is getting in and running down the mast inside the boat. This is a new occurrence.

OK, you're talking about what I call the mast ring. Almost everyone that I know who owns a Freedom has this kind of problem. It's taken year for us to get ours sealed so that it doesn't drip.

My suggestion is to get one of the rubber mast boots from West Marine and attach it to the mast using large exhaust (hose) clamps. I also use a self-fusing tape such as Rescue Tape http://www.rescuetape.com/ to further seal the boot. I would also pull off the ring and place silicon under it. We've also made a Sunbrella boot that goes around the mast, mast ring and boom vang which is also held in place by large hose clamps and tightens down onto weather stripping foam. You can see photos of this at http://www.geoffschultz.org/BlueJacket/Rigging/

If you haven't had a problem until now, you're very lucky.

You talk about pulling off the ring and place silicon under it, can this be done by one person. Is there any concerns .

On the 40/40, which I own, the ring is simply held in place by nuts. It should come right up. If there is existing silicon, I attach a halyard to the rounded rods that the blocks attach to and use the halyard to pull up on the ring.
