How Long should the tiller be?

Post by Kimberly »

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie Freedom owner. I am working on getting my 1982 F-25 ready for spring launch. I have a quick question about the teak tiller.

How long is the tiller?
The one I have has the end worn off and the tiller extension rotted out. I have a teak post to make a new one, but would like to hear what the original length was and If longer would be better.

The one I have looks like 39" long and the Tiller extension is 1" from the end.

Thanks for your help,

Randy Clark

The tiller on my F25 is 48" long and the tiller extension attaches 8" from the end. I do not think any longer than 48" would be beneficial.
