HI, I purchased my 1983 28CK "Wings"mid 2014. I sail Neuse River and Pamlico Sound in NC and lie near New Bern NC. I will attach pics when I get them correctly sized. Been following this blog for about a year and very much like all the comments and posts.

Welcome to the group. I purchased Raven (28CK WB) in 2010 and spent 2 years refitting her. So if you are attempting any projects, repairs or upgrades PM me. I have most likely been there. This forum is a great resource for Freedom info.

Congratulations,

My 28 CK Clave' and I have been together 2 years this month. My Brothers had it in sailing condition when they gave it to me. So I have had fun sailing. We are glad lots of others know their boats more intimately here and can share their experience. Raven knows his freedom 28ck better than most.

Pictures are always good. Share your experiences.

HI, Thanks for the posts. still trying to get a photo small enough for this site. I like to know Captain's first names along with boat names. I plan on being in Tampa area with Wings and interested more on the Jan event for old boats. Also would like to know morw about what you have done to upgrades, engine/prop sizes etc. I am not a daily visitor to this site as when I go sailing, email stays at home...

Congratulations on thoughts of the St Petersburg classic boat regatta. It is an event the St Petersburg Yacht Club in conjunction with the St Petersburg sailing squadron. It is a benefit for the local meals on wheels. My brother is rebuilding a freedom 40 I was going to race with him but his project is a bit behind schedule. It currently has the engine out. Has completely stripped interior and rebuilding is progressing. I encouraged him to race without the engine. Freedom number 1 did well in that mode. He wasnt so inclined.

Best upgrade my boat : tides marine sail slide system.

Best planned change: stack pack or similar sail cover.

Probably beneficial 3 blade or larger propeller.

Clearly undesirable: barnacles on your propeller

COME ON Man..... lets See if This Photo is down to a usable size......... :D Not sure why Geoff made this so difficult if the file is under 256kb Its a sailboat and most sailboats don't fit into a SQUARE pic. "The image must be at least 0 pixels wide, 0 pixels high and at most 1024 pixels wide and 1024 pixels high. The submitted image is 1031 pixels wide and 1330 pixels high." (197kb) so now I have to cut top out...to satisiify vertical pixel

Hi, for me the Freedom 33 and 28 ketches are the best looking Freedoms. They look like a cruising boat should.
cheers Dale.
