Bulkhead Replacement

Post by dry bones »

My Freedom 25 needed a new bulkhead. They guy doing the work started the beginning of May. He just finished it last week. And charged me $1,000.00 for the job. I'm aware that this was a job that was clearly put on his back burner. But is $1,000. 00 reasonable for a forward bulkhead replacement? I had already started the job by removing the head, and the v-berths. Whaddya all think?

If he did a good job, that is use good materials, do a tidy job and hefty lamination of the bulkhead to the hull, it sounds like a good deal to me. I take it the price was including materials? How many workhours can you buy for $1000? Maybe 10 or 15? And then the materials. I know it would take me more than 15 hours to do it.
