There was a selfish reason for hoping the 14/15th date was correct! I am really interested in your reefing solution. Will be working that issue on my boat, too, very soon.

I know - I can't wait to meet everyone and check out your Freedom's! My wife will be joining us too! Here is a poor shot of my leach reefing - first reef's block is seen. Second reef cringle you can see the ss ring -- on which I attached a small shackle and the block on the other side. I added the shackle as my block did not hang straight down without it- just 2 more trips to West Marine of course. Pic is showing 17 kts AWS with boat handling nicely. I put in the first reef at 18-20 kts AWS but didn't really need to as weather helm seemed good to me and boom was at the edge of the dodger with plenty of room to de-power before reefing. Sail went up full with no hang-ups and reefed down easily. I did not try to shake them out so I'"ll find out next week when I hoist the main again if things stick or not...
