Hoyt 32 CamberSpar sheave

Hello all ~

All I wanted to replace this 30 year old worn sheave. But, then I noticed the retainer at the end of the spar is frozen in place. I can turn it with water pumps but I don't think it should be that tight. Seems it would not rotate with the wind to give me proper shape on a tack. I'm I not understanding the mechanical process that is taking place on a tack regarding the camber spar?

Help guys! ;)

Hello Chip, yes that end has to swivel freely.

Fwiw,
I have had good luck just using wd40 and working items that have similar restrictive corrosion. Haven’t done this in this particular instance. Best

Hi Chip,

I’m looking to replace my sheave this season. Where did you get your parts? How did you get it out of the end of the camberspar?
