Jib traveller broke off on 40/40 w camberspar

Post by Riki »

We were sailing, not hard at all. Light winds and our jib traveller fell off. We're in the middle of a vacation on the boat and rigged up another block on the other side. Seems to work reasonably well. Any one else had that happen and rigged up something else? Just looking for ideas.

Riki - can you describe a bit more? Did a cotter pin come out ? Or a Clovis pin or something fail? How did it fall off and what was attaching it- did the jib sheet block become undone from the foresail or did the block(s) from the jib track (traveler) come off?
