Re: Boat insurance question

There was a post on this site in 2015 by someone looking for a new mizzen mast for a Freedom and I think the cost was $10,000 or so plus shipping. More recently you and I were also posting with SVB???? about a new mast for his F30. He was looking for a used mast because he didn't think he could affo...

Re: Boat insurance question

Mike - I have BoatUS/Geico insurance as well and the premium is about the same as yours. Looking at the prices for our F-30s on Yacht World; I think that "market value" will not cover a mast replacement or even a significant accident. They will total the boat! I know my "agreed value" policy won't d...

Re: Propane Tank for Freedom 32

If you cannot source any tanks that will fit in your existing horizontal tank combing boxes then maybe you should consider buying one of these and mounting it on a stantion with a new Worthington 6 lb tank. https://powertank.com/products/bkt-2287 I added one to Heart' Desire so I could carry a third...

Re: F 40/40 Engine Raw Water intake

The Marlon valve you propose will allow you to flush out your engine, and it would permit using the engine to pump out water from the boat; but it would preclude being able to clear weeds from the raw water intake.

Re: Dinghy Mounts for F38

Hi - You might look into the Davron Dinghy-Tow system. http://dinghy-tow.com/ I towed my Portland Pudgy behind F-30 Heart's Desire for a season worked well but the hard dinghy and the small boat and boarding over the stern rail of the F-30 was cumbersome for the short trips I make. Just towing in Pu...

Re: Fuel fill idea

I hate to admit to being so anal, but -- After noting quite a bit of particulates and a bit of water in diesel purchased from my local fuel dock I now refuel primarily from jerry cans so I can filter the fuel and remove water before it is transferred to my main tank. I was also concerned (after read...

Re: Mull F30 portlights - Free

Stephen -

Since I'm about to tackle replacing the acrylic in my F-30 ports I'd like to have yours just i case I ruin one or two of mine.

Can we make arrangements for me to drive up from Shelton sometime soon and pick them up?

Thanks

Re: Anchor system for F-30 help me spend my money right - or

I guess I should have finished my post out a while ago. But here is what I did: Lewmar V1 vertical windlass with a wireless remote for operation at the bow and an additional up/down switch for operation at the helm. (no foot switches at bow) 100 feet of 5/16" HT chain 200 feet of 5/8" braid anchor l...
