Re: Deck fill

Do not enlarge the deck fill hole. 1. Remove the deck fill 2. Tape over the bottom of the hole with waterproof tape 3. Use a Dremel tool or an old hex key chucked into a drill to remove any wet core material or a minimum of 1/2" back from the hole edge between the upper and lower fiberglass skins. 4...

Re: very low water bilge pump

Hi Mike - I remembered reading about a system to dry the bilge a few years ago. Couldn't find the article, but asked "CoPilot. It found the systems, but did not cite the article. Here is the result: SEAFLO Dry Bilge System: The SEAFLO Dry Bilge System is an economical and reliable solution. It remov...

Downsizing

It is time to downsize to a day sailor and to part with my 1986 Mull Freedom 30. I believe the balsa core of the hull is saturated, so a sale is not in the cards. (My wife was right in 2013) Assuming I can find a location that will allow me to part it out, and there is interest in parts', I'll do th...

Re: Propane dilemma

Hi Mike - With your low propane usage maybe a smaller tank like this one would work if it fits in your locker: https://skagit.craigslist.org/bpo/d/eastsound-horizontal-propane-tank-new/7645916683.html Supplement with 1 lb cylinder or two with an adapter. I'm driving up to Blaine and back the end of ...

Hi Mike -

Any progress on logo stickers? The ones I bought on the site are pretty much deteriorated too.

Re: Alternative to an Edson Wheel Cover???

While Freedoms came with the leather cover on an Edson wheel, I went about 20 years with a wheel covered with 1/8" cotton line half hitches. Comfortable and non-slip. Have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOANhF7O8kc But beware - wear gloves or suffer the blisters resulting from apply...

Re: OMG he is talking about the camberspar again and needs help

Hi Mike -

My boat is up in Blaine and I won't get there until sometime next week. I'll measure for you then.

I n the meantime maybe this post will help:

https://freedomyachts.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8583

It seems to indicate 13% of the length for the sail pocket.

Re: Freedom 32 throttle shift control

I've got the single lever control that was mounted on the bulkhead next to the engine panel on the port side of the cockpit on my 1986 Mull F30 if that would help you.

Mechanism looks similar the Edson 910 pictures.

F-45 camberspar & jib

Trolling through Longship Marine consignment in Poulsbo, WA yesterday and noticed a camberspar and jib from a Freedom 45 for sale if anyone needs them.

I have no financial interest in either the stuff or the store.
