Re: Freedom 39 Pilothouse Sailplan Request and Conversion

Just so you guys know, the conversion is done and is a success, though still some tweaking to do.
Now cruising in France, so if there's any interest among the group, let me know and I'll upload some images and details.

Mast wanted for Sunbird 32 schooner junk

Hi all, Lexia , a Sunbird 32 schooner junk belonging to a friend of mine, has just been dismasted in the 2013 OSTAR. He's back in Plymouth UK looking for a replacement mast - timber, carbon, alloy or steel. Max diameter 5 inches, max length 30 feet. He may rejoin the race if he can get one quick or ...

Re: Headliner Material & Adhesive

I just wanted to say how easy working with the foam material that Michel recommended is. (It's called 'Foamex' in the UK, and is often referred to over here as 'fridge liner'.) You just mark the shape you want then cut through it with a sharp knife. Often you can simply deep score it and snap it, th...

Re: What type of house battery is best?

Hi Mike Funny how you and I keep having similar problems. My lead acid batteries (one 80 amp start, 2 x 135 amp house in parallel, one 110 amp house a 'spare') are on their way out after a cold winter here. Charger is an old Mastervolt which still seems to work fine, and an Ampair 100 wind/towed, wi...

Re: Freedom Mast Wedge Replacement

Hi Geoff

Looking at my masts I think they're 'glued in'. How did you cut through all that Spartite?

Hi Geoff

Thanks for the welcome. Been a member for a couple of years, then my email address changed and it all got sort of confused. Anyway, good to be back - great site.
