In Maine there are several entrepreneurs who make bags out of used sails. When I replaced my main a few years ago, I donated my sail to one of these bag makers in exchange for a bag. You may have someone out your way that does the same thing.

The boat has been hauled and is covered. When I launched in the spring last year, I did touch up a few spots on the bottom, but did not do the entire thing. Painting your own bottom will cost significantly less than what a yard will charge. You'll want to prepare the surface properly. Usually a thorough powerwashing will suffice. However, if you're thinking of using a multi-year paint over a soft or annual paint, you'll most likely need to sand. I would...
