Re: BlueJacket Lightning Strike
Hi Geoffrey, Dale (ex) Freeform owner here. Hope you don't mind me popping in, particularly now that I have a boat with wires holding the mast up! I was wondering if the lightning strike affected the mast in anyway? It was always a concern of mine when I was in high lighting strike areas such as Sin...

Re: Update on Singlehanded TransPac racer Jacqueline
Also prior to the above I had the tophat moving around a little making the noise he describes. By memory ,which is vague I was able to reach under it and tighten the two bolts that secure it to the step. Maybe worth mentioning this to Mike, easy fix if that's the problem.

Re: Update on Singlehanded TransPac racer Jacqueline
I had the same issue also. I pulled the mast 6 years ago. Ran a glass strip around tophat that inserts into mast after careful measuring. Have not had any movement at all for approx 20,000nm.

Re: F32 Gale strength winds.
One more thing I'd like to add. The Freedom 32 is a strong very sea worthy boat. I know most probably say that about their boats, a mate of mine says it about his Bavaria. The difference is ive tried Freeform in varying conditions in remote places over approx 20, 000nm, with all the trials and tribu...

Re: F32 Gale strength winds.
Hi Guys, things that I will do differently next time. Companion way gets shut at the start of bad weather, even though I have a good dodger we had a wave come over the top I estimate that approx 60-80 liters went straight inside the boat, just missing computer etc on chart table. 3rd reef going back...

Hi all, I thought a recent experience maybe of interest to some. I'm sailing up yhe west coast of sumatra and have been getting un seasonal weather. We left Kracatoa volcano Java to head north west, approx 400nm with really no place to stop until you hit the Mentawai islands. Weather should be and w...

Re: Cockpit Enclosure for Freedom 38
Hi Dale, it would be great to see some photos of your enclosure, I'm.getting some bimini dodger work done later this year. I live in the cockpit, hiding from sun I'd critical, but after the last two days stuck inside due to ridiculously heavy rain ,being able to enclose the cockpit seems very attrac...

Re: Downwind reefing
Hi Peter, yes I reef mine ddw ask the time. I'm in Sumatra at the moment, Lots of squalls so are reefing frequently. Thinking of adding a tired marine strong track to make it easier, not that it is that difficult now.
