Vibration in F38 mast
We were anchored in a bit of a blow, about 30 to 35 knots, and there was quite a vibration in the mast, enough to shake the boat. The forestay has been recently replaced and it is under slight tension. I tried attaching the main halyard to the end of the boom, and putting some tension on that (solid...

Re: Antenna for SSB
Thanks for your replies. Is this similar to the model you have: Shakespeare 5308-R Ocean Twin SSB Antenna? Or do you have the commercial version?

Antenna for SSB
I've read old posts regarding this, but would like some specific information. An old whip antenna (which is not working well) was on my Freedom 38 when I purchased it. Re: Boatyard in Chesapeake
Robert - Thanks for your reply. I meant mid-Chesapeake Bay, but not Annapolis. Has anyone heard any reports about the Hartge Boatyard in Galesville?

Boatyard in Chesapeake
I purchased a 1987 Freedom 38 recently and need some work done on it, including rigging, electronics, and prop/shaft work. I'm currently in the mid-Chesapeake Bay area. Does anyone have any recommendations for boatyards in this area which they have liked and are reasonable in their fees? (Or who NOT...

Re: Holding Tank
Thanks for the "heads up" everyone. This gives me encouragement that a refit is manageable and good information.

Holding Tank
I am looking at purchasing a Freedom 36. However, it does not have a holding tank. Could anyone provide information about the ease, potential location(s), and/or rough cost of retrofitting a holding tank on this boat?
