Re: Electric motor inboard

AGMs are NOT what you want to use. If you use 80% of their capacity, you will kill the batteries very rapidly. You're going to want to use something like LifePO4 batteries.

Re: toilet removed in a freedom 35 Pedrick

After thinking about it, I have an inspection plate under my sink. In theory, I could get my arm through it and get a socket wrench with an extension on it to the toilet. I've never had to do it, and really don't want to try. It really makes you wonder how they assembled these things! Good luck! -- ...

Re: toilet removed in a freedom 35 Pedrick

Those are carriage bolts that have a square piece under the cap that keeps them from turning when tightening. "All" that you have to do is to access the nut on the bottom and loosen it. Clearly, a trivial operation, for which I have no suggestions! :D

Re: Fresh water holding tank water level monitor

Be very careful doing this, as you need to assure that there's absolutely no way to get any water from the tank for the head into the main water supply. To do this properly, you would need some kind of air gap and maybe even a separate deck fill.

Re: Mast inspection

Mast leakage seems to be a very common issue on Freedoms. We have pretty much solved this with 2 mast collars. We have 1 rubber mast collar that you can buy at West Marine, etc which goes around the mast ring at the bottom and then is secured to the mast with a large hose clamp. Over the top of that...

I'm just posting an article here to remind people that this feature exists on the forum. This allows you to receive daily/weekly e-mail compendiums of posts without having to log into the forum.
