Re: Round the Island Race 2014

Hi Peter, I think I may have caught sight of your Freedom in the Solent a couple of times this year. We might have even exchanged a wave just before the start of the RTIR. Pleased you had a good race, a bit to much wind on the beat for my F25, but we did better than I expected given the conditions. ...

Re: Beaten by a Freedom 25

Many thanks Crossjack, 'Squirrel' did go well that day, 6kts and down wind for most of the race, it was going to be our day !, The Gun mout is very handy for short handed sailing, has its limitations, but when its up handling is very simple. Have to say your GK 33 is a real 'looker', would like to t...

Re: Round the Island Race 2014

Hi all, I am the owner of 'Squirrel', and have to say it gave me huge pleasure to do so well in my old Freedom 25. It was a very light wind day with a flat sea, I did not realise just how well she could go to windward in flat water, I went much further out than the fleet when rounding the Needles, t...

Re: F25 shots

Hi, I have been racing my Freedom 25, 'Round mast' with outboard, in our 'Solent' frostbite series. 5 races, wind speeds ranged from 8-26kts. I found I can carry the head sail, about 100 sq ft, in winds up to about 12kts with 3 crew on the rail, and full main. Have to reef the main above about 18kts...

Hi, My Freedom 25 round mast, will need a new mainsail soon. Has anybody had one made recently ? or can recomend a Sailmaker ? How much will a new mainsail cost ? I am based in the UK but there are so few F25s on this side of the pond I wonder if it may be best to use a US Sailmaker who has experian...

Thought I should introduce myself to the members of Freedom Yachts org. I am pleased to say I been the proud owner of a Freedom 25, round mast yacht, since May this year. My F25 'Squirrel' is kept in Wooton creek, Isle of Wight, UK. Have enjoyed many day sails on the Solent and even a couple of race...
