We just had the mast out of the boat for some work. The the overall length of the mast is exactly 57 ft. Yard charged by the foot of mast so this was measured quite carefully!

I used an automotive headlight refinishing kit that did a pretty good job of clearing ours up. Although not back to "brand new" condition, the refinishing was a huge improvement.
