Re: Yanmar Parts

Hey Mike, hope you and your family are all doing well. I recently purchased Yanmar parts from Svens. They only get these shipments in twice a month (15th and 30th, I think) though that might also have changed recently given overall delivery issues. It's also not exactly an easy drive for you so let ...

Re: Companionway hatch cover rebuild

Ditto what Mike said! This was a most excellently executed and documented project. I've been meaning to pull the cover over my companionway hatch for a while now because I plan to mount a life raft. Every bolt that I've pulled over the years has been over drilled and filled with epoxy before getting...

Re: Cabin top cracking around the mast step

For the cabin top crazing, I suggest you check all the bolts underneath the deck collar. I'd been having some stress cracks at the traveller and found the nuts underneath were working loose. I am adding a backing plate just to give it extra rigidity, but have come to believe that bigger washers and ...

Re: 2019 October Rendezvous

I can commit to the Nov 9-10 weekend. After my original post about possible dates, I realized that I had already planned to go to the SSS cruise out, too. Sorry I didn't update that sooner. These two events will be the last things I start tearing Kynntana apart again to get her ready for the Pacific...

Re: 2019 October Rendezvous

I recently got the mooring lines needed for Angel. I'm up for that! Maybe I'll get another dinghy by then. Mine is like Wack a Mole. As I repair one leak another pops up....

Re: 2019 October Rendezvous

Hey Camino, I'm ready this year! I am also aware of two new Freedom owners in the Bay area that I'll reach out to though I know that Circe is already on the forum. I could do Friday/ Saturday Oct 25 or Saturday/Sunday Nov 9 or 16. Anyone else? I don't have a preference but would love to try Aquatic ...

My sailmaker has been suggesting this to me for a couple of years now. Would love to see pictures too, if you have any.

Re: Happy Performance

Congrats, Camino! That was a great run in a competitive race. I have not done it yet. How was the party? I had heard last year was a real bust. You might to check out YRA's Westpoint Regatta this month. It's usually a spinnaker run, but one year the wind was too beamy and too heavy. That's when the ...

Re: Removing portlight on 40/40

Wish I could help but I just caulked mine in place and live with the glazed look. Maybe if you Google Bomar glass replacement someone has posted something. When I'm ready for the expense, I am going to replace them all. Best to you on the project!
