Re: new Freedom 32 owner in SF Bay

Welcome Dave! I wonder if that F32 was the same one I looked at a while back. The owner had done a ton of upgrades. I ended up with an F38 from San Diego. She's now berthed at Treasure Island. Have fun sailing the bay. Maybe see you out there :D

Re: Starting Problems

This is such a timely topic. I'm having the exact same problem on my 3GM30. It caused a scary moment a few weeks ago when returning to the dock and happened again the last time I went out. It turns over fine at the dock when the engine is cold so that's weird. My research on the web suggested that I...

Gun mount spinnaker needed for F36/38

Anyone have one they want to sell? If not, can someone give me the dimensions of the pole and length of the sleeve so I can get these machined? It would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Freedom Yachts

Yes, mine has the reinforced pulpit. I'd need to get the rest machined. I wonder if the asym spinny that I have would work for the gunmount? I'll have to measure it.

Thanks, Rick, for offering to raise the chute! That would be great to see it fly. I'll send you my contact info.

Re: New Freedom 32 Owner

Welcome! This sounds like one of the Freedoms I looked at last year, but eventually bought an F38 in San Diego. You two are going to love it :D What a great place to sail.

Re: Freedom Yachts

I am single handing my F38, which will involve races in and offshore San Francisco Bay. This often means high winds (20+ k) that can be tame one minute and blasting the next, as well as variable sea state with short, choppy white caps on the bay and rollers offshore. I have an asym spinnaker now tha...

Re: Freedom Yachts

Does anyone have the specs for the gun mount spinnaker for a F38? Mine didn't have one and I'm completely sold on the idea after watching an old video of the gun mount design on an F21. If anyone knows who might fabricate them, that info would be appreciated, too.

Re: Any America's Cup watchers? Wudja think?

The fastest boat with the most money won it definitively. What an amazing comeback. I feel for the Kiwis -- the Emirates team and the nation -- to have gone through such a defeat after so many races on match point.

Re: Help with cambarspar!!

I'll take a look at the sheet connection, but I think it is attached to the end of the spar. I don't have a whisker pole. What kind do you have and where does it attach to the mast? I think the problem might be the length of the sheet and in not letting the jib go way out, as Rick suggests. I'll che...

Help with cambarspar!!

Could someone please help me figure out how to rig the cambarspar correctly?! It tacks fine, but it seems to need some kind of brake to keep it from flopping over, especially if trying to sail wing on wing, but I shouldn't have to run forward every time I change course. WHAT am I doing wrong? Is the...
