Rivet dimensions for boom on F38

Hi,

I'm installing a rigid boom vang on my F38. It looks like my boom thickness might be 5/8" to 11/16". Does anyone know more precisely?

Re: Any America's Cup watchers? Wudja think?

I'm getting out on the water tomorrow to watch Races 7 and 8. These are amazing boats, but it's akin to when horse & buggy racing transitioned to stock cars. I'm sure many people thought that was just crazy, out of control stuff :o, but who wants to go back to a slower time? It would be shocking if ...

Re: Curtains in a F32

Thank you very much! The same area in my 38 is all wood. I'm a little hesitant to drill into it but will figure out something. I wonder if anyone has made covers, similar to the winch covers, that would fit over the portlights?

Re: LED Cabin Lighting

That's really beautiful! Thank you for posting. My F38 is too dark and I will need to something similar. Better still is how little you had to spend on the project. It looks great. Can you also tell me how you did your curtains and the mounting hardware? It's funny how few Freedoms I see with curtai...

Jib dimensions and sailmakers for F36

Hi, I was wondering if someone could provide the dimensions for the jib on an F36 including the pocket for the camber spar? Do you also have suggestions on good sail makers?

Thanks very much,

Carliane

Re: Surveying an F38

Hi. I don't think we know each other. The sale went through in late January. Since then, I have driven to San Diego 3 times and spent hours learning about the new "Kynntana." so I am not in the market for a boat or a surveyor, but am curious where is your boat?

Re: Fitting Garhauer rigid boom vang

Petar, It would be great to hear how this goes for you. I just ordered the same type vang for my F36 and will install it in the next couple of weeks. San Diego Marine Exchange told me they have this rubber material for the sleeve around the spar. Garhauer said to use bicycle inner tube. He also said...

This is really helpful. If you can share the photos, that would be great, but please don't go to any trouble. I will talk to the yard, too.

Re: Weeping Keel Bolts

Brien, I see you're still on the forum so I hope you don't mind me resurrecting such an ancient post but it relates to what I am dealing with right now. I have a Freedom 38 that has the ever so slightest leak (maybe a tsp per hr) that I am fairly certain is coming from one of the keel bolts, but the...
