Re: mast head

Here's the final look before it all went back up in the mast, but before the sheaves and blocks were installed. You can also see the base of the tri-color, but not the light itself. I need to get a view from the top one of these days. I still look up and admire it often :D Pipe insulation around mas...

Re: mast head

I've been meaning to post some pics of the mast crane birthing process that I went through in March 2016 so thanks for the prompt to get this done. I worked with a friend in his machine shop, which did require skills and tools that I don't possess, especially welding! Basically, we took the old mast...

Re: mast head

This is why I now have blocks attached to my mast head to be able to run another halyard (or 2) as backups. The problem I see is that you don't have any backup and your primary has failed. I don't see how you can climb this safely. I bit the bullet, took the mast down and did a complete over haul of...

Re: Yanmar 3gm30f water pump

I have no suggestions for you, but curious what others say because of how long over due mine is. I think once a year is too frequent....six years is pressing my luck.

Re: Bay Area meet up

Let's see if I can remember everyone. There was Evi and Erik with a Freedom 40cc being refit. There was Collin on an F44 over at Marina Village (I think). Bernard Slabeck has his F36 in Mexico and had impeccable timing for being in the Bay Area at the right time. Don Magraf used to be the West Coast...

Re: Mast maintenance

I love the idea of black masts but I don't think you can paint straight over gel coat without degreasing it or abrading it first. You'll need to investigate what kind of prep needs to be done to it to get the paint to stick.

Re: Bay Area meet up

Roger, Selkie is a beautiful example of a well restored F36. Great job on her! I had such a nice time with good friends. We'll have to plan a third annual Freedom Rendezvous for China Camp or maybe somewhere up in the Delta, or Benicia, or suggestions? Let's put a date on the calendar, perhaps some ...

Re: Bay Area meet up

It's really bad air quality in Oakland today. I just loaded up with groceries and it seems to be getting worse. I'll understand if people need to cancel.

Re: Bay Area meet up

Carliane- lots of work involved in these get togethers! Seems like fire smoke is a common denominator- prayers for fire Area folks. Stephanie and I will be coming from aquatic cove and will shoot for 3:00 or so I hope. Thanks for the docking info! We have not been that far up the estuary before. Is...
