Happy Sailing RVivian,
I am about to fly to St Lucia where Scherezade is at present to sail her to Europe. Looking forward to the trip
but crossing my fingers for a safe trip and systems which keep working.

Re: Flying the F-30 Camberspar jib
I used to have the same problem. In my boat I solved the problem by giving more 'play' in the forestay. Allowing the camber-spar protruding
more forward when sailing close hauled. ( it also made the rigging of the camber spar inside the jib much less of a struggle then it was before)
Good sailing.

Re: Sheered Mast. Freedom40
I would contact Paul Dennis at Warren River Boatworks, Warren R.I. He worked for many years at the Freedom Yard and I consider him the best authority concerning Freedom boats. He'll probably can give you the info you want. I wish you success, and please keep us Freedom owners posted on the developme...

Re: F35 (Pedrick) mast track issues
Harken cars should run very freely. When I drop my mainsail by releasing the halyard clutch it drops so fast I am afraid damaging the cars by the speed they hit themselves on the way down. Wasn't always so. I also replaced the halyard sheave up mast but the turning block on the mast foot as well. Ch...

Re: new freedom 45 owner.
The forward holding tank is in my boat under the front V berth just under/aft of the chain locker.
For details of the jib boom you best contact Paul Dennis, owner of Warren River Boatworks in Warren, R.I.
Probably the best source for information and spare parts for any Freedom.

Re: Engine driven refrigeration
Normally I am in awe when I see the plumbing, compressors, solenoids and all other stuff which makes up the refregeration system and give it a wide berth. Reading your comments starts to make me less anxious about this, and reading that you have a good working, almost noiseless system on 12V which t...

Dale, any idea how the lithium batteries performed on Nimrod cat? Couldn't find a link to contact David Straton.

Re: Bottom Paint
Dale, Jotun Seaforce 90 looks promising. Please give a follow up with your experience with it. I will do the same coming year about the copper coat. I have also someone to look after Scherezade when I am gone. Don't like maintenance on returning either, I have to ask him how much growth there was or...

Re: Engine driven refrigeration
Geoff, this is a lot of interesting and helpful info, a pity I am not an engineer and be able to work on it myself. Good to read that you installed a 12V system on the Grunert holding plates. I asked the same some time ago,( love the 12V Adler Barbour system on the 38, it's from '89 and still workin...
