Re: Odd mainsail shape - advice?
Up date to this "S" shape. I found the S shape diminished if not completely went away resulting in proper sail shape once I flattened the sail more than I would have with my previous Bermuda rigs. It seems the F32 doesn't like quite as much twist in the main as some other "conventional" rigs. Once I...

Re: Camber spar too long?
I found that if you connect the bow end assembly first using a bolt and lock nut or an appropriate clevis pin it makes assembly easiest. I cannot say everyone has the same process. So that assembly is the two eyelets of the sail, one to each side of the camber spar of course, align the camber spar h...

Re: Anemometer replacement recommendations wanted
Hi Geoff, as Camino states there is a solar cell integrated into the masthead unit along with a lithium battery. I have yet to see any issues whatsoever with the charging, or the rest of the instrument system for that matter. Just be aware that there is recommended limit of mast height to head unit....

Re: Anemometer replacement recommendations wanted
Two summers ago I switched to a Garmin GNX 20/21 set of gauges for my F32. I am very pleased with them and being wireless from the anemometer to the head installation is very easy to install. Occasionally, as Mike Cunningham pointed out, I have had interruptions in readings, I'd say maybe 5 in the 2...

Lol, now we see how you are Alan! I'm sure the stories were plentiful and the experience was humbling. I understand why you felt the need to rub it in, errr, I mean brag.

Re: FREEDOM 32 GUN MOUNT $500 OBO
Zengirl2, I believe the sleeve in question would be the equivalent of the spinnaker sock on a typical set up. The spin gets doused and pulled into this sock when dropping the sail.

Re: Stack Pack
Hi Lee, my F32 has a boom kicker, works quite well as long as I remember not to lean too heavily on the boom. If set correctly it also add additional twist into the sail when the breeze is light.

Re: Restoring modified Freedom 45 CC to self-tending jib?
I'll attempt to clarify the flop. The bow end at the spar is held onto the stay, so relative to port and starboard it is always midships. The stern end of the spar is held up by the luff of the sail and down by the single jib sheet. If you have the jib midships the arc of the spar (which is substant...

Re: Restoring modified Freedom 45 CC to self-tending jib?
Hi Maxies, While I have a F32 the camber spar is essentially the same, only scaled down. The camber spar itself has an arc built into it which as you tack port and starboard will flop over on it's side ever so slightly which gives the sail the proper shape regardless of angle of attack. Your thinkin...
