Re: Start button - I swear I'll fix it this time

newt2u- Our initially intermittent problem was failure of the ignition rocker toggle. Lugs looked OK by inspection. Assume corrosion internally. The switch had two sets of contacts. Transferring to those lugs solved the issue, though I did invest in a whole new switch. All indications were somewhere...

Re: Freedom 44 Emergency Tiller and Anchor Chain Locker Drainage

35' Pedrick here. Our chain locker has two drains, water would be able to flow on either tack at sail. There are obvious holes that are tubed to forward hole ports around the water line. Assume you'd have same? We store our emergency tiller in deep storage lazarette behind wheel. Size isn't as robus...

Re: Start button - I swear I'll fix it this time

From my experience, I would replace the 'button'. In our situation, we could not replicate the non-start in dock. Finally it failed every time instead of intermittently. The starter button had a pair of leads, switched to the alternate pair, ignition with the existing unit. Just one side failed. Rep...

Re: Start button - I swear I'll fix it this time

UPDATE- Had mechanic, Tony-Franco Marine-visit today. Impulse starter button on cockpit the culprit. Could not diagnose the issue, as it always started when in slip. After finally failing permanently, easy to pop panel and ascertain it was button, not starter relay. Whew. A lot less to fix, time and...

Re: Start button - I swear I'll fix it this time

Thanks to y'all for the compass points. If equilibrium allows, I'll hang upside down in lockers searching for likely issues mentioned here. Sailors should not be 6' 1" and 200+ lbs.

If misery loves company...

Have the same issue. My experiences as follows... Other than one time (detailed later) engine start every time in slip. After a day's sail on the SF Bay, will push start button and nothing, nada, zilch. No click, no groan, no moan, no grind, no nuttin'. Scratch head, check that all is in order, shif...

Re: Holding tank vent , etc

Hi, Tom! I'm sure your better half will appreciate the hard work on the vents. Certainly was fine below when you hosted all of us at Treasure Is. Interested in both aspects of your additional post. We've gone out with first reef in a couple of times a month ago. But agree that a second and third mor...

Re: F35 Spinnaker Hardware Questions

Can't help much other than to relate the following... No spinnaker present when we bought our F35 Pedrick. However, there is a spinnaker halyard present routed back to cockpit. No other hardware to my untrained eye. There was black tape, as well as rigger's tape, marking the toe rail. Suspect it was...
