Re: wing keel
Never had this issues myself but did a quick google and came up with: Has anyone else suffered this hideous experience? We anchored for a couple of days in an area with strong currents and often wind against tide. Somehow the 2001 Bav40 snarled the anchor chain around the keel so it was impossible t...

Maine Sailing Books - free (but)
I realize that I will not be sailing in Maine anytime soon and want to send these books to a new home. 1. Taken - An Explorer's Guide Maine -- Christina Tree & Elizabeth Roundy Richards 10th edition 2. Available - A Cruising Guide to the Maine Coast -- Hank and Jan Taft - 2nd edition 3. Taken - Crui...

Re: mast head
My guess is you need to climb twice. Once to install a line to use for the second climb. Second climb replace sheeve.
Haven't thought where you will secure this temporary line but there should be a spot to run the line through.
Just my winter thoughts.

Re: Fuzzy forward hatch
Select Plastics in Norwalk CT rebuilds hatches. About half the cost of new. Did a great job on my main saloon hatch.

Plug In Battery Charger that Equalizes
I need to equalize by Lifeline batteries, probably need to do it off the boat as 1) I'm on a mooring, and 2) I don't think my ancient circa 1993 charger has an equalizer setting. Does anyone know of a plug in charger that will do this? Does anyone in MA/RI have one I can borrow?
Thanks

Identify Lazzarette Hasp F38
The chrome plated hasp broke and I’m trying to replace it with another that has the same three hole configuration. It is the same hasp as shown in the attached photo. There is a Perko but it only has two screw holes, SeaDog has four. Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Re: slow leak on F40/40
It could be the shaft seal but on my F38, which had such a leak, the water would collect in the sump under the engine. Don't know if the 40/40 has the same set up. I did find that I could only see the leaking (in my case) Tides shaft seal when it was under load at a higher RPM. Hope this helps.

Re: Camber Spar Information
John; If I'm understanding your note you seem to be putting the jib on the camber each time you sail (I apologize if I misunderstood). I think the norm is to put it on in the spring and take it off in the fall. There are no issues of installing it under at sea conditions. My practice is to connect t...

Neoprene Mast Boot
There is an old and scuzzy neoprene (so I assume) boot on my mast which has hardened over the years and no long covers the base ring. It has slid up and now fits flush to the top of the ring inviting water into the boat. Has anyone had success in possibly heating (hair dryer?) the neoprene and getti...
