Re: Engine cutting out in rough seas
Will relate what we found to be our problem that rings similar to your description. The fuel pickup tube in our boat HAD a small screen to pre-filter debris that might be residing in the fuel tank. When you run the engine hard, that screen clogs and starves fuel to system. Engine dies, fuel demand l...

Re: What do you use as your VHF aerial? Freedom 33 Cat Sloop
What's happening to your VHF antennae? Loosening at the attachment point or whipped to pieces? Loose screw? Loctite on threads! We did a remove and repair on our B&G wind anemometer. Used a rigger for that. No problems with vane, VHF or B&G after a season in SF Bay's very brisk breezes. Are there an...

Re: How do you climb the mast? Freedom 33 Cat Sloop
Getting up the pole is a huge problem. No riggers on our side of the bay and when you say, "50+ ft. free standing carbon fiber", some say, "No thanks." Wife has been hoisted aloft in standard boson's chair using main halyard and spinnaker as a 'safety'. We have used professional help to replace top ...

Re: F35 Holding Tank
Our pipes route through and onto the wall of the wet locker of the shower room. All the turns with vents seem to be there. Going out to dinner, will check back here later. As an obvious check, threw clean water into the holding tank via the pump out port. Then sucked it all back out. No issues to da...

Thanks for doing the leg work. Much appreciated.
We're looking at dinghies. Postponed anchor practice to see daughter this weekend. On the schedule for next.

Re: Treasure Island Rendezvous
Watching news today, see they are blowing up the old bridge so those of us from the South Bay don't have to sail around Treasure Island and take a more direct route.

Re: Treasure Island Rendezvous
Thanks for hauling up the main sheet... The rookies, Bill & Carole Smith have the date entered into our schedule. Sailing out of the mid-Peninsula, dredging will be finished and tides no longer a worry leaving marina. Not a member of Coyote Point YC or any other. If we deadbeats can tag along, much ...

Re: F35 Which of the 3 reef points are most useful?
Hey gang! We are in if schedule remains as is current.
We are have sailed the boat often in our first year + of ownership. However, have yet to anchor out. And, no dinghy!
Not so minor details, but hardly insurmountable. We've had Clipper Cove on our 'must do' list. Sooner the better.
