Re: Leaky Gudgeon Bolts
Another source might be the just above water line thru hull drains. Exposed constantly they can crack and leak. Worth checking even if they aren't the culprit. They have a 15 to 20 year life.

Re: Camber spar
Hi Rikki,
Maybe I used the wrong term. Wire rope clamp is a better term. I think this is about the right size.

Re: Forestay Tension ?
Hi Pat,
To avoid the "dreadful banging on the mast", tie the tack of the jib to the forestay. That pulls the spar forward enough to miss the mast.

Re: Camber spar
Hi Gamayun,
To keep the camber spar off the deck, attach a cable clamp to the forestay the height of the bow pulpit and below the spar. That plus the topping lift will keep it up for mooring or anchoring.

F35 Maxprop settings
Hi all,
I don't get the performance I think I should get from my Max Prop. I think I have had mine set at 16 degrees.
What setting do you have for your Max Prop on a Freedom 35 Pedrick?

Re: Freedom engine shut off length
Hi Bob,
Any more information would be helpful. Who made the cable? (Assume Telflex.) Who did you buy from?

My F35 is 25 years old. I’m updating the steering and engine cables. Anyone know how long the shut off cable is?

Re: Radar Mast for F40/40
I recommend the Edson Manual Leveling Kit for Radar Masts. It uses a retractable button to change the angle. Easy. Simple. Works. BTW I sail in Maine.
Mine isn't for sale.

Re: Freedom 35 - Bent Prop Strut?
I replaced my shaft last year. The most time-consuming part of the job was getting the coupling off the shaft. Here is a pic of the tool I used. I borrowed it from my car mechanic. I've since bought one on Amazon. You want two fully threaded bolts of two different lengths. There is little room to wo...

worn gooseneck bracket F35P '97
My gooseneck started wearing on the bracket on the mast. See photo. The pin steps down to a very small size at the bottom. When the boom lifted the pin, it allowed the pin to wear against the bracket. I should replace the bracket. Or drill out the bracket and use a larger pin. Has anyone faced this ...
