Running Free
I noticed on Yatchworld.com that the F40 AC CK "Running Free" is for sale. She is listed as having aluminum masts. Does anybody know if she was remasted from carbon fiber or has she always had aluminum sticks? If she was remasted I would be interested in knowing why, was she damaged at some point?

Re: Gun Mount Spinnakers
Good grief, has it been 7 months since I was asked for photos? I am so sorry! Hopefully these links to the photo albums on the Freedom 21 Yahoo group site work... This one to link you to my main photo album: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/freedom21/photos/albums/246673799 And this to my album o...

Re: Wearing an ensign
I think that I've seen a photo where someone had mounted an ensign staff to the top of their rudder.

Re: raising F30 Main sail
Scott & Marilyn; My Freedom21 is berthed down stream on Lake Guntersville. Give me a shout if you are in the area. As to your question, keep the track lubed every quarter or so depending on how often you take the boat out. I had to replace the mast head pulley on my 1985 F21 about 3 years ago (it ju...

Re: F21 Spinnaker and Staysail wanted
You should ask if your club ever runs a pursuit race. In pursuit racing the boat with the highest handicap starts first and the rest of the fleet starts as their handicap expires. In theory, the fleet finishes together. It is a fun change of pace and the "slower boats" get a chance to lead the race ...

Re: F21 Spinnaker and Staysail wanted
I only use my staysail for cruising. IMHO it is not worth the 12 points of handicap you loose to be faster in 3-8 knots of wind. My club will not start a race in less than 3 knots of wind. If it isn't blowing at least 5, I don't leave the dock. Here is the link to the base handicaps: http://www.phrf...

Re: Racing an F21, how feasible?
I race my Freedom21 regularly, in fact I'll be racing next weekend in my club's Spring Handicap Series #2 on Lake Guntersville in Alabama. PHRF for the Freedom 21 cat ketch is 255 but that assumes a spinnaker. I would recommend NOT racing until after you get your spinnaker. I also recommend NOT raci...
