My 4040 had a leak when I first purchased it. It leaked in the corner at the bulkhead. The solution was to add fiberglass at that point, making sure that it sealed well.

The OEM impellers used to have the threads, and then it seems that they changed suppliers.

Jabsco was the supplier for a long time. You could read the Jabsco part number on in Yanmar impeller, and could buy the Jabsco part for significantly less than the Yanmar part. Crazy!

Yes, I've used it. You have to make sure that your impeller's hub has internal threads. You may have to buy the Jabsco(?) equivalent as the new part number doesn't have the,.
