Re: Boom topping lift
Tanks for clarification. I do have two tiny blocks (at least they appaer very small ) on each ens of the mast head fitting which I believe are used as flag halyards and doubt that they will be strong and/or big enough to fit a shackle and block that would be needed to suspend the weight of the boom ...

Re: Boom topping lift
Hi
what does "the crane at the top of the mast" mean?
Slackening it down to allow the mainsail roach to get past when tacking would be way to go.

Boom topping lift
I am awaiting fitting of my brand new dodger his week. Previous one (prior to me purchasing he boat couple of years back) was damaged by, I guess several boom dropping when the mainsail was lowered and forgetting to tighten up on lazy jacks. When the main sail is hoisted, my boom height is several i...

Re: Questions about F36/38 performance, stability
Hi,
Not sure where in PNW you are. I am in Vancouver, BC and my 1986 F36/38 is moored in Point Roberts, so if you are interested you can come over, we can diuscuss the boat and if you wish we can even go out for a sail.
If interested PM me and we can make contact.
Petar

Re: Autpilot linear drive F36
Hi, I just came back from my boat. I've taken some photos and put them on Photobucket for you to view on what my autopilot linear drive arrangement looks like. Let me know if you have any more questions.

PHRF rating for F36 with a sugarscoop
Does original 1986 F36 with added sugarscoop get same PHRF rating as F38 or remains the same as original F36 e.g. Lowest PHRF rating 135 , Highest PHRF rating 156, Average PHRF rating 141?

Re: Securing Main Halyard to Protect Forestay
Ed, I have read the article and trying to picture it out. I believe that this arrangement would cause the lower section of the jib to be exposed to the elements and not properly covered with the sailcover unless you unshackle the tack of te sail every time you are noy using it. This would of course ...

Re: Autpilot linear drive F36
I will try to take few photos of my arrangement this weekend. Mine is fitted at the Starboard upper corner of the transom. As the transon is sloping down and outward, they have glassed in a piece of wood or something to make it vertical and the linear drive is attached to it with the extension spind...

Re: f36 Dry Rot near mast & head
I also have a small amount of water accumulating under the mast but to be honest, after having seen the damage crevice corrosion can do to the keel bolts unnoticed, I have become very paranoid about any water in my bilges. Fresh or salt. I keep my bilges dry at all times. I inspect the area under th...
