Re: And it begins
Saw your project, congratulations. I see you are in Alaska. I am on Gulf Coast of Texas but I think we may be thinking alike on one issue. That would be insulation. I am trying to put AC on my boat and the insulation would make the AC more efficient and also more comfortable. Have you thought about ...

Re: F32 sliding door hardware
Well, what I did was place a couple of pan head screws at the same height for the one that broke. I still have one of the two. I put the screws such that the door would be level. I realize that it won't last forever with stainless rubbing agains aluminum but so far so good. Best

Re: Mast maintenance
I neglected to mention that there is an additive that one can use for the easy proxy that makes it more durable and more like the more durable polyurethanes that would most likely do well for the mast (UV exposure). I didn’t use as the boom is covered most of time.

Re: Mast maintenance
FWIW, I just had my mast painted awlgrip (boatyard). Can not give you a long term thought. I painted mine white. I felt that the white color would reflect heat and hence not break down as quickly. I personally painted the boom to match with easy poxy paint by petit. It looks great too. Admitedly, th...

Actually, I think the screw head type is pan (not cap) head. Looked it up and there are nylon screws are available.

Re: F32 v-berth door track upgrade
FWIW, I repaired my v-berth sliding door today. On my door one of the sliding supports (has 2) had failed and one was good. The good one had been removed and I replaced it on the front part of the sliding door. It is held in place by 4 screws. Well, I needed to address the broken one. I tried lookin...

FWIW, I kinda like the heavier cloth. Less likely to stretch/rip. Have had that repair before. Best.

Re: trailer advice Freedom 21 shoal draft
FWIW, I don't think it should be too much of a problem assuming that it does not extend too much. I would be more concerned about whether or not the axles are overloaded. Not sure what it weights or the ability of the trailer. You certainly should be aware of both. I would not think a foot or even t...

Re: Anchor rode attachment point
FWIW, I have a 32 also. I really don't have a lot of experience with it since I recently purchased. I really don't think the mast idea is good as it is too far from the entrance of the rode (chain and rope). I don't know but was thinking about this after you brought it up. How about a short piece of...

Good news,
How high was the surge? sounds like you had your ducks in a row with regard to lines and preparation. Not all luck.
