Re: Looking for a gun mount
balger,I have the pole ends and mount from a F32. I don't know the diameter of the pole and mount for the 30 but if I recall correctly what I have is 4" diameter. I had it shipped to me a year ago from Puerto Rico directly from Eric Sponberg who used to work for Freedom Yachts. Right after I receive...

Re: Article on Warren River Boatworks
Thank you for posting this link, the article does Paul and the Freedom boat legacy justice. I know my 1984 Hoyt 32 will be sailing for a long time to come!

Re: self steering vanes on barn door rudder boats?
VeloFellow, I purchased a EV100 system for my Cal 29 and transferred it to my F32 for it's third summer now. It works very well on the boat once you get the tweaks right (true for any boat you add an autopilot to). Since you already paid for it you may find it very useful when you need to leave the ...

Re: Propeller options on a Freedom 32 (Hoyt)
Yes that is the same they quoted and I purchased. I love how the boat moves with it, I just can't stand the vibration that started after mounting it. The same thing occurred last year. I installed the prop and there was much vibration so I had the marina haul me back out a few days later, removed th...

Re: F32 reefing
Alan, I can't imaging how much friction was created by the lines running like that. My guess is the system would not have been very useable without the block in the mix. As I think about that set up, let's focus on the first reef line. If it exits the forward end of the boom on the startboard side, ...

Re: F32 reefing
Yes, I bet you are correct. I actually need then on my sail to stop the hook and block from falling out as well as stop it from spinning causing a twist the the reef line. It's quite annoying.

Re: F32 reefing
Alan, do you have a picture of the same area further away so we can see more context? I do not think those are for a leech line as they would be at the leach of the sail running perpendicular to those grommets, I don't see a leach near that area in the pic either. No offense intended Andygc. Loose f...

Re: Propeller options on a Freedom 32 (Hoyt)
Hi Rodent, great thought, I appreciate it. Since the blades on the folding props actually sit about 4" more astern than the fixed prop blades, I have almost 4" between the blade tip and the hull.

Re: Propeller options on a Freedom 32 (Hoyt)
Hi Castaway, thank you for your thoughts! I agree with you, but I have found them (flex-o-fold) less than helpful. Any question asked that can be misconstrued as a prop issue I receive an answer about things I've already eliminated and informed them about, it's an endless loop. They did offer to reb...
