Re: Perkins 4-108 Rebuild

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8418/p1010016lb.jpg One main and one rod bearing. All looked perfect but for ones in the number 4 connecting rod. Those had a fine scratch that I could just catch a fingernail on but the crank itself is perfect mirror smooth. These are confirmed standard size bearin...

Kerri and I *both* were lucky enough to get published in the current issue of Latitudes and Attitudes Magazine.

So... just to brag a little we are Kerri and George Huffman. :)

Re: How to Add an Account

Makes perfect sense to me. I wonder about the insane amount of spam attempts we have here. At Lats and Atts we get a few a week and we don't even filter first posts, we just kill them as they appear in the forums.

Re: Perkins 4-108 Rebuild

Oh OK, I was confused by the discussion of pushrods and clearances :/ Anyway this is very *close* to a complete overhaul as I'm doing everything but cam bearings and I may end up doing those depending on what I see inside the motor. - Complete cyl head renewal including guides, springs, valves. - Ne...

Re: Perkins 4-108 Rebuild

I'm not sure what you are getting at there. I micrometer my own cranks and double check clearances using plasti-gauge. I had excellent oil pressure with this engine when it was last running so I doubt the crank is going to be a concern. The problem we were having was low compression on number two ca...

Re: Perkins 4-108 Rebuild

AgKits.com I noticed on their website that they did cylinder heads so I asked him if they would press the liners in for me as well. $40 per hole is a good deal and since I'll be shipping the head up to them anyway I'll let them do the liners as well. I've done business with them in the past and alw...

Perkins 4-108 Rebuild

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6936/p1010001qg.jpg It won't fit out of the boat in one piece so I'm having to take it out in pieces. http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/6281/p1010003pc.jpg By myself I couldn't lift the head off of the block with one arm all the way extended so I worked it up in st...

Re: F40 and F44 Bunk Lengths

In the main cabin of our F40cc the v-berth is 6'2"; the double pull-out is 8'2" (yes, that's eight feet and two inches). The quarter or pilot berth is 6'2" In the aft cabin the double berth is 6'7" but you will want to be pretty good friends with your partner back there. ;) Keep in mind that there a...
