Impeller puller for Yanmar 3JH series
If you're like me and curse every time that you have to change your impeller, I just (hey, I've *only* owned BlueJacket for 23 years...) found this impeller puller for a Yanmar 3JH motor. It is part #129671-92110. This may fit other impellers. s BlueJacket has been stuck in Guatemala for the past 2 ...

Re: SYNTRON SHAFT SEAL MAINTENANCE
You shouldn't need a custom shaft seal. The PSS shaft seal has worked great for me.

Re: Repower time - Freedom 32 Yanmar
Re that video that you linked: Sue & I met Tony Flemming on Venture when we were going down the St. Lawrence. We shared several marinas as we worked our way down. We're still friends on Facebook. Nice guy!

Re: Freedom 40/40 boom vang adjustment (?)
There's no doubt that it can be challenging to raise the main when headed into seas. The vast majority of the time there are 2 of us on board and when we have conditions like this, Sue will raise the main while I will stand at the wheel, reach up and grab the boom (I'm 6'3") to steady it and make su...

Re: 3GM30F tachometer not working
Are you sure that it's the tach that isn't working, or is it the wiring in between? I have frequent issues with my wiring/connectors.

Re: Mast Wedge Woes
[edited after re-reading the op] I'm confused by what you mean by " notice as I clamp down tighter that the spartite is being pressed through the deck partner and not "catching" sufficiently.". Isn't your pour flush with the deck-partner ring? I wouldn't expect that tightening the ring down would mo...

Re: F40/40 Main Halyard Chafe
WhenI get jib halyards, I add on an additional 10-12' because they seem to chafe at about that same spot. I think that one of the key things to do is to make sure that the jib halyard is very tight. Also, there's a piece of stainless that holds the jib topping lift that can provide a sharp edge that...

Re: Wire slapping in mast....halyards too
I use soft pipe insulation which comes in long rolls. I've replaced it 2-3 times over 23 years. You end up with a very dull thud when the boat rolls, but nothing objectionable, and we sleep in the v-berth. As far as halyard slap is concerned, I tie my jib halyards off to the bow pulpit stainless and...

Re: stack packs for Freedom Yachts
I also have a Mack-Pack, and unlike Camino, mine doesn't have battons. I hate it, and completely wish that I had a Stack-Pack, which does have battons. The fabrication of the Mack-Pack is nowhere near as good as the Stack-Pack, and we had the sailmaker who suggested it, resew parts of it to bring it...
