Re: Hatch Solar Vent
Hi Philipl, I don't know if this is the same reason yours has failed, but a bunch of years ago mine did too. I found that the rechargable battery within completely died (probably shorted) and even in bright sunlight the fan would not spin at all with the battery installed, the vent seemed completely...

Re: Propeller options on a Freedom 32 (Hoyt)
Hi Audiguy, Old thread I know, but the subject matter is current for me. I am wondering if you ended up purchasing the Flexofold 2-bladed folding prop? If yes, what is your opinion of it? I purchased one last year, mounted it without issue but upon running it the boat almost vibrated apart. That sou...

Re: HEAVE TO
I have had success testing this on my Hoyt 32. I simply tied the camberspar clew end to the toe rail with some spare line when on a given tac, then came about to back wind it. The boat settled in quite well after a bit of trial and error. It would not be very difficult to rig some blocks and line to...

Re: diesel fuel
I have a 1984 32 with a Yanmar 3GM30F engine, a 30 gallan diesel tank, I average about 1 gallon every 2 hours at about 2400 RPM. Mileage will vary of course dependent on many factors. With my prop and transmission that would equate to about 12 miles per gallon, your set up may be different though.

Re: Looking for a F32 spinnaker
Hi Mike, I ended up ordering a new spinnaker from from Precision Sails, it is due to be delivered in March. Since I'm in the NE I would get to try her until May or June depending on when I splash after some deck and window work. So far dealing with them has been good. I'll let you know how it all wo...

Re: F32 rudder packing
Dale, hoping for information to this old thread. Were you able to verify if there is a delrin (or other material) bearing underneith the packing material? I have the knocking and water ingress when fully loaded so I know I at least need the 1/2" packing but would like to do both at the same time if ...

Re: Hoyt F32 rudder bearings
If anyone has any experience or information of a Hoyt F32 lower rudder post bearing I would appreciate it.
I did contact Tides Marine as I've seen them mentioned in the forums a bunch of times, but they could not help.

Re: F32 Saloon Table??
I am able to remove the table from the post, but not the post from the mount. On mine, it does not seem to be designed for the table to convert to a birth as there are no rests for the table if I were able to drop it.

Re: mast head
Lewharve, I have used Klemheist knots to climb the mast via halyard. It's actually an old knot used for climbing rope but I also use it around the mast so in case a halyard breaks this knot will tighten around the mast and stop me from falling much more than a foot or two. I connect the knot to my b...
