Hello All.
after a number of repairs including a recent transmission rebuilt (pictures in posted in this forum), it is time to resolve a rudder issue.
I have long noticed that the Wheel moves little bit in each direction before the rudder moves -- seems like there is some rudder play.
I have checked and it is NOT the cables, quadrant, or rudder controls.
When I pulled the boat, I can wiggle the rudder when I grab it (not turning it, but kind of side-side/back-forth).
I read somewhere that this is most likely the Bushing..
Questions:
- Has anyone replaced the Bushing ?
- Can you drop the rudder when it is normal high jack stands or does the boat need to be lifted (or dig a hole ?)
- What is the process / how to do it ?
- WHERE do I get a new Bushing for a Freedom 36 ?
Please let me know, post any pictures you may have and any comments/guidance.
THANKS - Michael
