Mast repair patch

Noticed some damage on the mast today, looks like the previous own attempted to repair it with some filler of some sort. There are exposed areas of what looks to be fiberglass and or carbon fiber. Whats you'll take on this? What should I use to repair these spots on the mast? See attached photos.

Mine isn't quite that extreme, with just a few areas of gel coat chipping and the 'normal' horizontal cracking. Take a look at the repair guide here in the forums. I can attach it later when on my laptop
